Q: Live Stream Open Morning
/We are a dual-curriculum international school and we are looking into informing the parents early on, from kindergarten, about their choices in primary school (they can choose between the British International Line, or the Romanian line, each with the corresponding curriculum). An important step in this process used to be allowing the parents to come into the current Reception class, to observe live the first two periods in a particular day. Of course now, with the pandemic, we want to limit exposure as much as possible, on both sides, so we are looking at alternatives to do so. Please advise on what would be the best way (the most easy to set up, professional looking, immersive) way to "bring" the parents into the classroom without having them there in person? Thank you very much in advance! Anca Rusu, Director of Admissions and Alumni Relations, Transylvania College

One tool you might consider investing in would be a Mevo Camera (UD$350 on Amazon). These cameras allow you to set up a "live" studio broadcast stream. For instance, you can set it to automatically focus on the teacher, a small group of students, an assistant, and then control all of the virtual "cameras" via a smartphone app. You can also add additional cameras.
It allows you to do a very professional live stream through Facebook Live or YouTube Live, which could then be embedded on your website.
Read more about the camera and watch some demos here: https://mevo.com/
I have an older model and like how it works.

Great question!
Schools have been doing this well the past 2 years via Zoom and breakout rooms. You host everyone at the beginning in central “room”and then you move guests into different rooms (classes, years, specific teachers) whom themselves are on Zoom and located in their classrooms.
Zoom allows for pre-populated polls, Q&A, picture in picture presentations, and much more.
When done in breakouts, guests can move to another session, or back to the central room to wrap up.
Make sure you create and upload branded Zoom backgrounds for each of your team and you will look professional.
Good luck. Happy to connect you with many of our schools who have done this well during lockdown.
