What a wonderful way to bring the unique experience of a school community to life. The opening introduction draws the reader in and then they take a journey through a week of Wesleyan liturgies. For each day of the journey, another facet of the community is revealed. The reader "meets" just about every type of constituent a school can have, all ages and affiliations. Beautiful, descriptive writing keeps you engaged and wondering what the next day will bring.

Wonderfully creative writing! The story ideas are common to many independent schools, but the fresh approach to the storytelling makes each topic feel unique to Wesleyan.

The language paints a picture while still being accessible to the average reader. It truly gets the the core of what Peck is all about. You can imagine being in a Kindergarten class as you read each piece. It imbues love for the school, even if you don't know it.

The use of the song as the framework for this piece is very appealing (even for an outsider who is unfamiliar with this bit of school folklore). Schools struggle to distill the beauty of kindergarten, often focusing on upper grades. This was a thoughtfully crafted heart-warmer.
